Liberal academia in the U.S. has gone extremely far in recent years. There is a compelling argument that a professor of Education (for instance) ought to be teaching education and not personal politics. Indeed, even a professor of Political Science should stick to the ciriculum rather than his or her personal politics. This is not a freedom of speech issue.
There are bad teachers on both the right, left, and center. And generally I'd be more willing to consider the argument that liberals may have gone too far if it weren't political. The same people who criticize liberals and leftists will never even notice right or center politics in the classroom. They simply don't see it because they believe it, so for them it's common sense. It's only when they disagree with certain views that they notice that they are not "objective".
