On Priorities

Maram Makkawi, a Saudi columnist, criticizes the distorted priorities of her society. She points out that a huge deal was made by some people of Raja' al Sane's novel "Banat al Reyad" but no one has anything to say about stories of abuse of childern, women, and workers, which are often dismissed as individul cases. She wants a debate about the need for legislation that protects children from abusive parents (in this case mostly fathers). (in Arabic)
