Syria and the Palestinians

Yesterday, while watching Mahmoud al Zahhar's joint press conference with his Syrian counterpart on Al Jazeera TV, I almost choked with emotion at the depth of the Syrian support for the Palestinians: now, the Palestinians will be allowed to dial into Syria using the international zero and will be allowed into Syria with their Palestinian passports (yes, that reviled product of the Oslo accords). Moreover, Syria agreed to allow the Palestinians trapped on the Jordanian-Iraqi borders of coming into Syria.

This is too much. Too much.

It's actually the product of the reviled Oslo accords, rather than the reviled product of the oslo accords! Big difference :)

Still syria is light years ahead of my country when it comes to the treatment of the palestinians; the Assads' uncompromising hatred of arafat's PLO notwithstanding.
