Carter on Israeli Apartheid

In his soon to be published book, Carter wrote that Israel’s current policies in the Palestinian territories constitute “a system of apartheid, with two peoples occupying the same land but completely separated from each other, with Israelis totally dominant and suppressing violence by depriving Palestinians of their basic human rights.”

The democrats don't like it one bit.

I remember thinking about exactly this when they ended official practice of apartheid in South Africa.

It seems that rather than embracing people, the government would rather build a snaking fence on the landscape and ignore the facts.

Sounds a lot like what Bush is starting on the Southern border of the U.S. I wish Robert Frost had never written the poem, "Mending Wall". It's terrible social policy in the long run.

There are similarities and differences with apartheid...arabs can vote in Israel, blacks could never vote in apartheid South Africa.
